Thank you! I just pulled out my oboe after several years of not playing. Seemed to be okay, though I had this sticking 8va key problem. I had a feeling the sandpaper trick would work, but since I had never done it on an oboe--only saxophones--I came here to be sure. Sure enough, one quick wisp of my 220-grit sp and all is now right with the world.

Ok this is amazing! I play oboe, but have left it in the closet for many years, then suddenly something happens (like this) and I remember why I studied music. The strangest thing is that I stumbled onto this and I have been researching a trip to Malta in 2024.
